I ‘m pretty new to woodworking and I‘ve been looking for a good table saw that fits my budget.  I came across the Powermatic 1791227K at Amazon and it fit what I was looking for.  The comments from people who bought almost all gave it 4 or 5 star ratings.  There were only minor negative comments, and that helped convince me to go with the 1791227K.   Plus, it was priced within my budget. 

When it arrived, I have to say that assembly wasn’t exactly easy.   But it wasn’t majorly difficult either.  It did take me about 5 hours to set everything up, but it was well worth it.  

Honestly with the price I paid for it, and most other quality table saws going for well over the thousand range, I really didn’t expect it to be perfect.   But I was really amazed that it more than met what I was hoping for.   The Powermatic has really been a pleasure to use.

You might say that the 1791227K really doesn’t have a whole lot of accessories or great versatility.  But it does provide an accurate and smooth cut on any type of wood I fed into it.   The fence is simple but accurate.  If you assemble it right, you probably won’t need to do much adjusting of it.
I also like the quiet of the Powermatic 1791227K.  It doesn’t roar like a lot of table saws I’ve been around.  It’s a real pleasure using a table saw that isn’t close to deafening.

One of the downsides of it though, is that it doesn’t have a dust collector.  It would have been a lot easier to clean up with one.   But to me, it’s only a minor drawback.    

I‘ve been happy with the Powermatic and I’d say it gives you great value for the money. Compared to tables saws that are a lot more expensive, it does a great job.   I’d recommend also recommend the JET 708360 as a good choice for a lathe for your woodworking.
